Tim Briggs demonstrates Bone-patella
tendon-Bone where a graft is taken from the
knee to replace the ACL. This operation has a
fairly long history and is by most to be
considered the gold standard. The Video is
about 15 minutes long, edited with voice-over
from Tim.
Andrew Williams who used to be at RNOH
demonstrates the Four Strand Hamstring
technique for reconstructing the ACL. The
hamstrings from one side of one leg are
harvested and used as the replacements for the
ruptured or deficient ACL. This operation is
increasingly popular and most consider this on
a par with Bone-PT-Bone. I think it would be
fair to say that this technique is a little
more difficult to perform. This section is
20mins long. Both sections include a brief
section at the end on complications and
rehabilitation
